LAGUNA CATEMACO
This is one of my favorite places in Mexico and not all that touristic (maybe that's why it's one of my favorites). Hire a 'lancha' (Spanish for boat), pay a maximum price of 1000 pesos, and enjoy a beautiful boat trip through the mangroves topped off with juicy views of the distant mountains mirroring in the water. The last stop is a peninsula called "La Barra," where they have delicious seafood. I recommend the ceviche!
